Online Compassion Courses (MBCL)

We offer courses in Mindfulness-based Compassionate Living (MBCL). These are open to people who have done an 8-week mindfulness course or have a regular meditation practice.

Why train in compassion?

In recent years a wave of enthusiasm for mindfulness practice has spread across the globe.  Now a second wave of interest is developing from new research showing that training in kindness and compassion can bring us healthier and happier relationships, with ourselves as well as with others.

While anxiety and stress are known to have detrimental effects on our immune systems, it is now being shown that positive emotions can boost our body’s immunity. People with greater compassion, including self-compassion, are less fearful and better able to cope with adversity and take good care of themselves.

What can I expect from an online MBCL course?

The real value in engaging with the 8-week MBCL course lies in the way we work with experienced teachers and others in the group over time to share experience and build relationships.

 

On this structured, evidence-based course you will discover how positive emotions enhance mental and physical health. You will learn new practices, drawing on the core qualities of mindfulness and using imagination to develop kindness, compassion, joy, forgiveness and gratitude - and the wisdom that goes hand in hand with these open-hearted emotions.

We do not wish money to be a barrier to attending our courses. Therefore, we can offer a few places on this course at a concessionary rate to anyone with genuine need. This is currently £90.00 for a

9-session course and £45.00 for a 4-session course.

 

As a guide, this discount can be available for students, those in receipt of state benefits, on a state or other low pension, or on a low wage. If you apply for the concession rate we will not question your circumstances but please bear in mind that our prices are already as low as we can keep them. It is also possible to pay in instalments. 

We also have 3 very reduced rate places per course available for people who cannot afford the concession rate.

Joining an online course

Our courses are conducted via 'Zoom'. This is easy to use on a desktop, laptop or smart phone. Full details will be provided on booking and support will be given in setting up where needed.
