‘The Art of Mindful Communication’

Love Mindfullness are pleased to offer this one-off online workshop with Frits Koster

Speaking and Listening with Wisdom and Compassion

We are in constant dialogue with ourselves and with others. Communication can flow well but it can also cause (unnecessary) conflict and confusion. The practice of Interpersonal Mindfulness can contribute to a wiser and more compassionate way of communicating.

In this workshop Frits Koster will introduce six guidelines for mindful communication: Pausing, Relaxing, Opening, Attuning to Emergence, Speaking The Truth and Listening Deeply.

These guidelines are introduced by Gregory Kramer in Insight Dialogue, see www.insightdialogue.org/. Two leading mindfulness trainers from the USA, Florence Meleo-Meyer and Phyllis Hicks, with Kramer’s permission, have designed a non-religious programme based on the principles of Insight Dialogue. This training is called the Interpersonal Mindfulness Program (IMP) and functions as a follow-up programme for those having done a course in MBSR or MBCT.

The French writer and Buddhist monk Matthieu Ricard says: ‘Understand that, just as a bird needs two wings to fly, you must develop wisdom and compassion simultaneously.’ In this online workshop, which will be guided by Frits Koster, the six guidelines for mindful communication will be explained and practiced (in break out rooms) to explore the wings of wisdom and compassion in an interpersonal way.
